Somawa - Soul of Water
Somawa is a blend of two sacred ideas: Soma, the Vedic elixir of vitality, and Wa, a reverent nod to water — the original healer.
Together, Somawa means “The Soul of Water.” It's a movement for those who believe health begins with the most fundamental element in their home.
Our Journey
Born from Loss. Built with Purpose.
In 2019, a family’s world shifted when their beloved mother and grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. A father with decades of practical wisdom and a son fresh out of IIM Calcutta turned their heartbreak into action.
They reverse-engineered a water ionizer, not to start a business, but to protect the person they loved most. Though she eventually passed, the prototype machines they had shared with relatives changed lives. That moment of validation gave rise to ICPURE — India’s first indigenous alkaline ionizer.
This is Somawa.

Why Somawa, if ICPURE already existed?
ICPURE pioneered India’s alkaline ionizer journey, bringing health into thousands of homes. But as we evolved, we realised people don’t just seek clean water — they seek water with purpose.
